About:
Tippet Richardson
For over 95 years, Tippet Richardson has been a family-owned business dedicated to moving Canadian families and businesses. Founded in 1927 by Basil Tippet, C.A Richardson, and Russell Naylor in Toronto with a single van and rented warehouse, the company initially focused on moves within Ontario, Quebec, and the USA. Leadership changes in 1944 saw Russell Naylor become Vice President of Operations and Walter Naylor take on the role of Vice President of Sales and Accounting. After Russell Naylor became President in 1959, the company expanded its operations in Ontario. His sons, Peter and Bruce Naylor, continued this legacy after Russell’s death in 1976, diversifying the business into overseas moving, business records, and special products, which led to further expansion into Alberta and British Columbia.
Today, Tippet Richardson remains under Naylor family ownership with offices in Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, and Vancouver, maintaining its commitment to high-quality moving services. The company also prioritizes environmental sustainability through initiatives like reducing non-recyclable packing materials, using recyclable packing paper and boxes, and installing solar panels on warehouse roofs since 2007. Additionally, Tippet Richardson supports the community through partnerships with organizations like the Smiles Foundation, providing dental care to children in the Dominican Republic, and Move for Hunger, offering free food packing for food banks and charities.
