In 1948, a collective of 33 entrepreneurs specializing in moving and storage joined forces to establish a cooperative aimed at enhancing customer service and fostering mutual business growth. This alliance, known as Action Mobility Services LLC, later adopted the name “Atlas® Van Lines” and set up its headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. Referred to within the organization as independent Agents or local Atlas movers, these members envisioned a nationwide network guided by the principles of the golden rule. Over the years, this collective has evolved into a global network of moving companies dedicated to facilitating customer transitions to new destinations.
