About:
Earl Farnsworth Express
Earl Farnsworth Express was founded in 1971 by Earl Farnsworth, who had worked in the moving industry since the age of 14. Starting with just a single van and pickup truck from his home in San Rafael, California, Earl quickly built a reputation for high-quality service, gaining business moving pianos and mid-sized households. By 1981, his success allowed him to construct a state-of-the-art 40,000-square-foot moving and storage facility in San Rafael. Over the years, the company expanded its services, offering climate-controlled storage and specialized equipment for damage-free transportation, and became an agent for Mayflower Transit. Today, Earl’s legacy is carried on by his eldest son, Cal, as company president, along with a dedicated team of professional movers who continuously uphold the values of quality and customer satisfaction.
The Farnsworth name has deep roots in the Bay Area’s moving industry, tracing back to the aftermath of the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake when Earl’s ancestors hauled water to victims by horse and wagon. Earl built on this family tradition, and under his leadership, the company grew steadily throughout the 1970s and 1980s, serving notable clients such as Pacific Gas & Electric and Equitable Life Assurance. Earl Farnsworth Express remains a leader in the moving industry, renowned for its modern fleet, highly trained staff, and community involvement, including donations to charities such as the United Way and YMCA. With a history of innovation, exceptional service, and civic contributions, the company continues to be a trusted name in local and nationwide moving.
