Founded in 1955 by Edward J. Lanigan, Jr. in Memphis, TN, Lanigan Storage and Van has been a steadfast interstate moving agent for Allied Van Lines, establishing itself as a premier moving company in Memphis. After Edward Lanigan’s passing in 1971, his sons, Edward “Jay” Lanigan and Dick Lanigan, took over ownership until Dick’s retirement in 2000 and Jay’s demise in 2007. Following Jay Lanigan’s passing, his wife, Lynn, led the company as president until her retirement in July 2015, during which Lanigan obtained certification as a Woman Business Enterprise, solidifying its reputation in the Memphis moving industry.
In July 2015, Lanigan Storage and Van underwent a transition in ownership, with long-standing employees Mitzi Lyne, Shannon Hollingsworth, John Lyne, and Rodney Hollingsworth acquiring the company. With Mitzi Lyne and Shannon Hollingsworth as majority owners, Lanigan continues its legacy of serving the Memphis community as a certified Woman Business Enterprise, operating from a spacious 63,000-square-foot office and warehouse facility strategically located in the heart of Memphis.
