Transfer banking accounts, empty safe-deposit boxes, and dispose of hazardous materials. Prepare plants, back up computer files, drain equipment of fuel, and have cars serviced. Pack a first-night box with essentials, conduct a final walk-through to check all areas, and ensure all lights are off and windows and doors are locked.
