Jesse Lovan, originally from Fountain Valley, California, relocated to Bakersfield at the age of four. He completed his primary education in Bakersfield, graduating in 2002 as part of the top 5% of his class at Liberty High School. During his high school years, Jesse actively participated in student government and various sports, and he was the recipient of multiple academic scholarships. Following graduation, Jesse attended Bakersfield College while working in the construction industry during his free time. After college, he pursued a career in sales and marketing. In 2010, Jesse joined forces with Chris Shipp to establish a moving and storage business. Their hard work and dedication paid off, as Jesse now operates one of the largest moving and storage companies in the county. Aside from his professional endeavors, Jesse finds joy in traveling with his wife and family, and he actively contributes to the local community through his involvement with Smooth Move.

Chris Shipp, a Bakersfield native, completed his education at Rio Bravo Greeley for elementary and middle school and later attended Liberty High School, where he excelled in football and contributed to the team’s first section championship in the school’s history. After high school, Chris pursued further education and continued playing football at Bakersfield College. Following his college graduation, Chris initially helped run his grandparents’ farm before they retired and sold it. Unsure of his career path, he ventured into sales, recognizing its potential as a foundation for his future business endeavors. When the opportunity arose, Chris and Jesse decided to establish their own company, driven by their long-standing desire to become entrepreneurs. Their journey started with modest beginnings, marked by long working hours and minimal free time. However, their dedication to prioritizing customer satisfaction and delivering exceptional service eventually paid off. Today, Chris and Jesse instill these principles in their employees at Mentors Moving & Storage. Alongside his professional pursuits, Chris finds fulfillment in coaching football at Garces High School for the past decade. He also enjoys engaging in outdoor activities like snowboarding and mountain biking, as well as actively supporting the local community. However, his greatest joy comes from being a loving husband and father to his two wonderful daughters.
