Since 1978, Mountaineer Movers has been a family-owned and independently operated business. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve the community and acknowledge the blessings that have enabled us to thrive. Our story began in 1951 when Harry Mans emigrated from Holland to Canada and worked various jobs before establishing our business. Initially, we managed local mail routes and delivery services before purchasing a moving business. Over the years, we expanded from local deliveries to cross-country moving, marking significant milestones like joining a van line in 1992 and becoming independent in 2012. Harry’s granddaughter, Sarah, now leads the company, continuing the legacy of her grandfather, father, and other family members who have passed away but remain a part of our daily operations.

Our team, which includes long-standing employees like Dave vanSchyndel, is dedicated to ensuring smooth transitions for a diverse clientele, from newlyweds to the elderly. We conduct free in-home estimates and adapt to specific customer needs, including weather-related considerations. Active in our community, we support local organizations and maintain memberships with various commerce and business bureaus.
