About:
Perry Moving & Storage
The Perry family’s legacy in the moving and storage industry spans nearly a century, with a remarkable journey that began in the early 1920s. William A. Perry Sr.’s decision to purchase Nyack Express, a small freight business just outside New York City, marked the inception of their enduring connection to the field. Initially focused on moving furniture and appliances in and out of Manhattan, the company steadily evolved. In 1962, William Perry Jr. joined his father, and together, they envisioned an expansion that would include interstate moving services. Over the course of more than 75 years, the Perry family built and operated Nyack Express, cementing their reputation as stalwarts in the industry.
In 1990, the torch was passed to the next generation as Rich Perry, armed with a degree and expertise in commercial logistics, joined the family business upon graduating from college. Eager to elevate the company to new heights, Rich spent over a decade honing his knowledge of the moving industry alongside his father. With a vision for growth and expansion, in 2001, Rich and his brother, Sam, launched Perry Moving & Storage in Jessup, Maryland, utilizing the two trucks they had acquired from Nyack Express. The move strategically positioned them in the Baltimore and Washington metro areas, regions known for their thriving business environments. Today, Perry Moving & Storage thrives in its new home, a testament to the Perry family’s unwavering dedication and commitment to excellence in the moving and storage industry.
