Storage Barn, a local veteran and woman-owned self storage company, was established by Mark Phillips and Jessica Smith 23 years ago with Eagle Storage in Dover. Despite initial skepticism about their swamp-side location on Route 155, they expanded to five sites and gained approval for two more across southern New Hampshire. In 2005, they sold their growing business, then the 105th largest self storage chain in the US, to Platinum Storage, the 16th largest at the time. After enduring the real estate downturn of the Great Recession, they secured approval for a massive facility in Strafford County in 2014 and purchased land in Dover for its construction.

Responding to customer feedback, Storage Barn introduced innovations like wider doors, climate-controlled units, and electrical outlets tailored for contractors and RV owners. They expanded their presence to Newington, Epping, and Hillsboro while pursuing approvals for new facilities in Tilton and Rochester. Operating from their Dover headquarters, they prioritize customer convenience with online transactions and on-site kiosks for leasing units and making payments. With a commitment to continuous improvement, Storage Barn remains dedicated to ensuring a positive storage experience for all customers, drawing from decades of industry expertise and customer insights.
