TWO MEN AND A TRUCK began in the early 1980s when brothers Brig and Jon Sorber started moving people in the Lansing, Michigan area using a 1966 Ford pickup truck. Their mother, Mary Ellen Sheets, designed the iconic “stick-men” logo, which still represents the company today. When the brothers left for college, Sheets took over operations, officially launching the business in 1985 with a $350 investment to purchase a 14-foot truck. Her commitment to customer service and savvy business strategies led to rapid growth, including the company’s first franchise awarded to her daughter, Melanie Bergeron, in 1989. Under Bergeron’s leadership and the return of Brig and Jon in the mid-1990s, the company expanded aggressively, becoming a nationwide franchise leader in the moving industry.
